Great time at club med magna Marbella

The rooms were excelllent, spacious, all in very good condition and with everything we needed. The mini club for the kids was great and my daughter became good friends with the GO there. The GO were always involved in everything and my daughters had a great time. I definitely recommend it. The buffet was amazing with loads of choice and it was great that they didn’t always have the exact same things every day.

The main pool was very big but with options for adults to go to the other quieter pools if needed. There are a decent amount of beds by the pool and most of them are well protected from the sun with plenty of umbrellas available. Our experience was definitely five star.

Ps - point of attention for any native English speaking families - Club Med is a primarily French speaking resort with majority of guests native French hence activities and importantly the kids club is run mainly in French. We actually loved this as we are an English/French speaking family but both this year and last we met English families who told us they had struggled with this especially with regards to the kids club.

Amazing experience - if you speak French

Pros

high quality and variety of food in buffet restaurant (menu changes daily)
5 pools to choose from so none are too crowded, with lots of different seating options (no need to go at 7am to claim a lounge chair)
Lots of sports daily to keep you busy: trapeze lessons, archery, tennis, aquagym, guided hikes
Activities every evening: garden party dinner and show is a favorite

Cons

30 minute walk downhill (very uncomfortable in the heat) to get to old town and beach, with 30 minute walk uphill all the way back
GOs and most other staff primarily French-speaking and seem to not want to speak in other languages, can make it hard to navigate
Most guests are also French speaking only and kids/teen clubs are not fun if you don't speak French
The app lacks some basic info like a map of the grounds, and isn't as updated as the screens showing daily activities
