Punta Cana Dominican Republic

Club Med Punta Cana was the perfect vacation for our family. Lots for our granddaughter (3.5) loved the kids club and her parents loved the activities. Even my 85 year old mother had a great time. Megan (events manager) was EVERYWHERE and had a smile for everyone! Pepito (entertainment) was also everywhere and seemed to never stop smiling either! The Chief of Sports, Miguel, was so enthusiastic and welcoming that he made everyone feel included. A special shoutout to Pascale and Djenica from the reception desk! They were gracious and lovely dining partners. Djenica gave us a bracelet she made to give to our granddaughter. The people make Club Med special.
There was one thing that could have made our visit even better - it was necessary to call for a cart if you wanted assistance getting to another area of the club. It would have been so much easier to go to a designated "cart stop" and hop on a cart that had a designated loop around the club. Such a large club needs a more reliable way to transport guests.

Context for better perspective:
This was our first one-week vacation as a family—my wife, our 2-year-old daughter, and me. I’m French, my wife is American, and this trip was also to celebrate her birthday.

I mention that I’m French because I’m very critical when it comes to food (which is normal—just something to keep in mind 😊). The details below are not in order of importance:

Price – Every budget is different, but just do the math! Take the total price of your vacation and divide it by the number of days and people. Now imagine that price covering all the activities offered in the village—tennis, water park, archery, plus alcohol and great food. It’s unbeatable!

Room – Beautifully decorated with attention to detail, which really makes a difference.

Ambiance – All Club Med staff greet you with a friendly “Hello,” “Ola,” or “Bonjour” throughout the village.

Responsiveness – The front desk was responsive and even followed up after our requests! I know it sounds too good to be true, but it really happened.

Daycare for our daughter – The staff was very caring and organized, with a checklist before drop-off: diapers, change of clothes, sunscreen, and an introduction to the day’s activities. I can’t remember everything she did, but for a sneak peek: playground, mini golf, tennis, swimming pool, pizza-making, and more. (Ask my wife for the full list!)

Food – I was genuinely impressed. Top quality, not too salty, with multiple stations offering different atmospheres and beautifully presented dishes. If you want a real French culinary experience with lots of variety and refined presentation, you’ve come to the right place. There are two restaurants—one buffet-style, and one more formal.

Surprise for my wife’s birthday – After speaking with the team, they arranged a chocolate cake at the restaurant and a surprise room setup with flowers on the bed. (Free of charge!) Important to highlight: this is all-inclusive.

Living environment – Several pools and bars with plenty of snack and drink options, from BBQ to pastries.

Safety – It felt extremely safe everywhere. Nothing to worry about.

Conclusion:
Imagine a place where your biggest decision is which pool to relax by and which drink to enjoy—surrounded by beautiful Caribbean scenery. Meanwhile, your child is safe, well-fed, and having fun. It’s like a dream! Of course, this isn’t real life—but for one week, it’s an unbeatable price for an unforgettable experience.

We were an extended family group of 6 adults and 2 kids ages 5 and 3, and had the most fun and relaxing vacation ever. Our four immaculate, spacious rooms next to each other on the second floor of Jardin faced the amazing new water park. The kids had a great time enjoying their mini clubs in the morning while adults could relax at zen pool and do various sports. The excursion Dominican Colors was well worth it, and the food was a non-stop feast of unending variety of dishes and fresh produce. What's amazing is the choice of things to do -- so many pools, sports, evening entertainment -- but at the same time, plenty places to have peace and quiet, with ample lounges under shade in the pools and the pristine beach. Would love to make this an annual event!

After three years we returned to this wonderful island of pleasure & fun.
Our expectations were high but easily exceeded. First I like to mention
-as this usually comes later, if at all- the level of cleanliness in all areas but the lavatories in particular. WoW - thanks to all the guys who are doing a fabulous job here! You instantly feel welcomed and the staff is really keen on serving you. Every animator, or G.O.‘s (gentle organizers) how they call themselves knows his or her job, is dedicated and experienced. May it be watersports, pickleball, or any other activity: you are guided and coached by motivated talents. The just recently opened waterpark is adding one more bit of excitement. Another highlight is of cause the circus school including an original trapeze on which you can train for the catch.
But for me the unique selling point, is the food. The choice as well as the quality is simply outstanding. This time we were lucky that only some 60% of the hotel could be booked due to limitations after a fire in September 2024. That meant absolute no hassel especially if it came to the Achilles heel sunbeds and quite crowded restaurants during the rush hours. This hotel has its price but if you see what you get it is reasonable. The package makes the difference - we have already booked for next year…

Conveniently located only 5-10 mins from the airport. The transfer to and from the hotel is great and we received a warm reception at check in. The beach is good, few rocks but very nicely maintained there were no beach vendors to content with a definite plus. A lot of lounge chairs available when going off peak. The main pool is good for families, the zen pool is great for adults. The new water park with slides was a nice addition for families. The superior rooms are good size for 2 adults but need to be renovated which it appears they are in the process of doing in several areas in the resort. Toilet overflowed and they were there to mop up the water within 30 minutes!
They have a good amount of exercise programs and sports you can do though out the day. Fitness center was adequate. There is no up selling here or timeshare sales pressure so that is very nice.
They have about 30 channels on the room TV about half are Spanish only, hdmi input didn’t work on the tv so could not get streaming to work.
The new beach bar and indigo bar is conveniently located near the beach and main pool. The zen pool has its own bar. The food is good different options each night at the Hispaniola served with beer or wine upon request. There was noise from the construction and renovation from about 7am-8pm each day.

Suggestions to improve the experience:

Spots bar/lounge area for adults in the zen area would be a great improvement, after you have seen the nightly shows once it would be nice to have another option to relax after lunch/dinner and watch a baseball, soccer, basketball game maybe play a game of pool or darts.

Upgraded alcohol add on option would be good for people willing to pay for it in the zen area.

Room service would be great if you didn’t feel like going out after a day at the beach or pool.

More grilled options, less fried/ breaded options. More gluten free options would have helped us too.

Stocked room fridge would give a more all inclusive feel.

Zen hot-tub was cold

WiFi drops a lot , even with their premium WiFi.

Few food options from 3 to 7pm.

Zen beach needs a little bar, too far to walk when you need a drink.

Snorkeling trip on boat (2hours) would not do again. The guy didn’t even get off the boat just pointed where to go then for the second hour of the trip was just standing on a sand bar. We would have rather gone on a boat ride around the area.

But if we return to Club med PC it will be because of the staff, though I rate the resort as a 4 overall (resort 3, staff 5) the people there are a 5 they make the place shine and made our stay excellent.

Schamir in reception is the man! He would check on us to see if anything was needed and if we did need something he was there to help, also Sara and Sephara helped make our stay excellent. Sergio was great with the luggage as well.
